Susquehanna Sweeps Etown, 5-3 and 6-0, in Commonwealth Conference Opener

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown 5-3 and 6-0 in its Commonwealth Conference opening doubleheader on the road against Susquehanna University Saturday. The Blue Jays dropped to 0-10-1 overall and 0-2 in the conference with the losses, while Susquehanna improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference with the wins.

In the first game Susquehanna scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 stalemate. Both Diana Aria (Philadelphia, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) and Jessica Russ (Media, PA/Penncrest) hit 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Kate Rowland (Emmaus, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

In the second game, Abbie Merrifield (York, PA/Dallastown) hit 2-for-3 with a double for the Blue Jays.
