Elizabethtown Shuts Out Villa Julie, 12-0

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. --- Junior Lauren Hoover (Reading, PA/Oley Valley) went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and five runs batted in as Elizabethtown College shut out Villa Julie College 12-0 in five innings in non-conference softball action on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore Sarah Church (Aston, PA/Sun Valley) also went 3-for-3 as the Blue Jays (5-2 overall) scored nine runs in the fourth inning, including a three-run home run by Hoover, to put away the Mustangs.

First-year student Kelsea Corrado (LaPlata, MD/LaPlata) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in while sophomore Paige Tanner (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) slugged a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Senior Alex Lee (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) tossed her first complete-game shutout of the season as she scattered three hits and struck out five in five innings of work for Elizabethtown.
