DeSales Sweeps Elizabethtown in Softball by Identical 2-0 Scores

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Visiting DeSales University swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon at The Nest, winning both games by identical 2-0 scores.

The Bulldogs (8-2 overall) won the opener on a two-run single in the top of the second inning by Kylie Fehnel, and took the nightcap over the Blue Jays (5-4 overall) as Amanda Kensicki knocked in a pair of runs with a third-inning single.

Jenn Lococo (4-0) scattered three hits and struck out four in a complete-game effort in game one for the Bulldogs, while Kristen Cybularz (2-1) fired a four-hitter in game two with one strikeout.

Fehnel went 3-for-4 as part of a 10-hit attack for DeSales in game one, while sophomore Paige Tanner (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) finished 2-for-3 with a double for Elizabethtown.

The Bulldogs managed just five singles from five different players in game two, while Tanner and senior Abbie Merrifield (York, PA/Dallastown) each went 2-for-3 to account for all four Blue Jay hits.

Senior Alex Lee (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) dropped to 4-2 on the season despite striking out seven in game one for Elizabethtown, while first-year student Lisa Malehorn (Halifax, PA/Halifax) fell to 1-2 with the loss in game two.
