Elizabethtown College Swimming ETOWN MEN WIN FIRST MEET OF SEASON WITH 107-82 UPENDING OF LEBANON VALLEY, WOMEN WIN 112-87 ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown's men's team ended its five meet losing streak with a 107-82 road win over Lebanon Valley Saturday. The women's team, meanwhile, improved to 3-5 on the season with a 112-87 win. Elizabethtown's men's team took first place in all but three events for the day in Lebanon Valley's metric pool, and two of those were run as exhibitions. Eric Bicocchi (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) won the 800m freestyle in 9:50.73, and Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) followed with a win in the 200m freestyle in 2:12.25. Jon Fortin (West Hartford, CT/William Hall) took first in the 50m freestyle in 26.13 seconds to give Etown a 47-21 lead. Matt Ostrelich (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) won a pair of events for the Blue Jays, as did Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson). Ostrelich captured the 100m freestyle in 1:01.12 and the 400m freestyle in 5:01.59, and Moore took the 200m individual medley and the 100m backstroke in times of 2:24.59 and 1:05.22, respectively. The women's team captured first place in six individual events. Elizabethtown returns to action at home Saturday, January 13 against Albright. Meet time is 1:00 p.m. At Annville, Pa. |
