Drew Sweeps Etown, Blue Jay Men Fall 107-72, Women Defeated 106-97

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown's women's swimming team fell to 3-7 and the Blue Jay men's swimming team fell to 2-7 with losses to Drew Wednesday night. The women's score was 106-97 in favor of Drew, while the men's score was 107-72.

Sarah Bradley (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Mt. Pleasant) won a pair of events for the Blue Jays. She won the 50 yard freestyle in 26.29 seconds and the 100 yard freestyle in 57.35 seconds. Also winning for the Etown women was Christinia Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth), who took the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:37.82, and Joanna Hyde (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland), who won a close 1000 yard freestyle race in 11:48.30, just two seconds ahead of Drew's second place finisher.

Also, the Etown 400 yard freestyle relay team of Stacey Benton (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg), Tara Sadak (West Hazleton, PA/Hazleton), Hyde, and Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) won the event in 4:01.42.

In the men's events, Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:46.38 and set a new team season low mark while winning the 200 yard backstroke in 2:05.59. Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) won both the 50 yard freestyle in 23.00 seconds and the 100 yard freestyle in 51.32 seconds.

The men's 400 yard medley relay team of Michael Hyde (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland), Matt Ostrelich (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic), English, and Moore won its event in 3:29.95.

Elizabethtown returns to action Tuesday, January 22 on the road against Ursinus for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
