Etown Gains First Dual Wins of Season Over Penn State-Altoona, Men Win 97-67, Women Win 105-66

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown's men's and women's swimming teams each improved to 1-3 overall with home wins over Penn State-Altoona Sunday. The men's team won 97-67, and the Etown women won 105-66.

Eric Bicocchi (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) captured the men's 1000 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly for Elizabethtown in 11:16.79 and 1:01.16, respectively. Michael Hyde (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) took both the 200 yard freestyle and the 500 freestyle in 2:01.87 and 5:47.98, respectively. Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) won the 50 yard freestyle in 23.17, and Garth Semple (Marietta, OH/Mercersburg Academy) won the 100 yard backstroke in 1:03.44. Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) won both the 200 yard individual medley in 2:08.47 and the 100 yard freestyle in 49.88 seconds.

In the women's events, Sarah Bradley (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Mt. Pleasant) won both the 50 yard freestyle (26.05) and the 100 yard freestyle (58.15). Cristen Cumor (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) won the 200 yard freestyle in 2:15.05 and had the lowest time of 5:57.02 while swimming an exhibition in the 500 yard freestyle. Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:28.91, and Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) won the 100 yard backstroke in 1:05.49. Also, the 200 yard medley relay team of Gish, Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth), Catherine Schadler (Souderton, PA/Lansdale Catholic), and Bradley won in 2:02.51, and Blaha had the lowest exhibition time of 1:13.03 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The Etown women's swimming team returns to action as host of NCAA Division II Millersville Monday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m.
