Etown Falls to Albright, Blue Jay Men Drop 94-57 Decision, Etown Women Fall 103-90 as Albright Wins 57th Straight Dual Meet

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Etown swam in its first dual meet since December 3 and its first home meet since November 9 Saturday as the Blue Jays were swept by Albright. The Etown women were unable to stop defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion Albright's dual meet winning streak from increasing to 57 meets, as the Blue Jays fell 103-90. The Etown men, meanwhile, fell 94-57 to Albright. The Etown men are now 1-5 overall, while the women are 1-6 overall in dual meets.

In the women's events, sophomore Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlise) won a pair of individual races for the Blue Jays, capturing the 200 yard freestyle in 2:07.44 and the 200 yard backstroke in 2:24.30. Freshman distance specialist Stacey Limbach (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) also won two events for Etown, finishing first in the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:56.45 and capturing nine points in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:06.86. Etown junior Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) won the only individual event she entered, the 200 yard breaststroke, in 2:37.31.

Among the men, junior and 2001 All-American Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) won both of his individual events for Etown, taking the 200 yard freestyle in 1:47.53 and the 100 yard freestyle in 48.75. Moore is currently just under two seconds shy of the NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying standard in the 100 freestyle and just under four seconds behind the provisional standard in the 200 freestyle. Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) finished second for Etown in the 50 yard freestyle in 22.90 seconds, just 0.24 seconds off the winning pace.

Etown will return to action on the road Wednesday, January 15 against MAC rival Drew in a 6:00 p.m. meet.
