ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE SWIMMING Etown Women Defeat MAC Rival Drew, 122-80, Drew Defeats Etown Men, 106-64 MADISON, N.J. --- Elizabethtown traveled to Middle Atlantic Conference rival Drew Wednesday night and had mixed results, as the Blue Jay women defeated Drew 122-80 to improve to 2-6 in dual meets, while the Etown men fell 106-64 to drop to 1-6 in 2002-03. Despite the score, the Etown men actually fielded the winners all but three events that they entered. However, with only six swimmers competing, the Blue Jays did not have the depth to pull out a victory. Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) won all three events he entered for the Blue Jays, taking the 100 yard freestyle in 48.95, the 200 yard individual medley in 2:03.11, and the 500 yard freestyle in 5:13.99. Brian Thudium (Harleysville, PA) won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:57.62, and he finished second in the 200 yard breast stroke in 2:37.06. Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) won both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle for the Etown women. Her 100 freestyle time was 59.55 seconds, but her 50 freestyle time is unavailable. Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:22.61, and she finished second in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:25.27. Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) won the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:38.82 for Etown, and she placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:28.34. Blaha, Gish and Kuc combined with Stacey Benton (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) to win the 400 yard medley relay in 4:25.12, while Benton, along with Stacey Limbach (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Tara Sadak (West Hazleton, PA/Hazleton) and Mariah Manning (Richboro, PA), won the 400 yard freestyle relay for Etown in 4:09.69. Etown will return to action on the road Tuesday, January 21 at Washington College in a 6:00 p.m. meet. At Madison, N.J. |
