ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE SWIMMING Washington College Sweeps Etown, Women Fall 151-54, Men Fall 129-42 CHESTERTOWN, Md. --- Washington College swept Elizabethtown's men's and women's swimming teams as the Blue Jay men fell 129-42 and the Blue Jay women lost 151-54 in the road meet Tuesday night. The Etown men dropped to 1-7 in dual meets and the women dropped to 2-7 with the losses. Washington College swimmers took first place in every women's event and in all but one men's event. Etown did have its share of highlights, though, as Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) lowered her team season-best time in the 200 yard backstroke by almost four seconds with a time of 2:20.39. She also lowered her team-best time in the 200 yard individual medley by over two seconds to 2:20.60. Stacey Limbach (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) lowered her team-best time in the 500 yard freestyle to 5:43.03. In the men's events, Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) scored the Blue Jays' lone victory in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:02.82. Elizabethtown will return to action Wednesday, January 22, when it hosts Ursinus in a 6:00 p.m. meet. At Chestertown, Md. |
