ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE SWIMMING Widener Sweeps Etown, 95-47 in Men's Meet, 103-94 in Women's Meet, In Blue Jays' Final Dual Meets of Season CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown closed out its 2002-03 dual meet season with a 4-11 women's record and a 2-11 men's record after being swept by Widener on the road Tuesday. The Etown men fell 95-47, while the Etown women dropped a 103-94 decision. Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) won a pair of events for the Etown men, taking the 200 yard freestyle in 1:46.49 and the 100 yard freestyle in 48.22 seconds, a team season-best time in the event. Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) won the 50 yard freestyle in 23.06 seconds for Etown. Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) won two events for the Etown women, winning the 200 yard individual medley in a team season-best time of 2:20.17, and capturing the 100 yard backstroke in 1:04.76. Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) won the 100 yard breaststroke for Etown in 1:10.32. Etown will spend the next week and a half in training for the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, which will be held from February 14-16 at Susquehanna University. At Chester, Pa. |
