ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE SWIMMING Casey Moore Breaks Etown 200 IM Record on First Day of MAC Championships SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- With the preliminaries of the first day of the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships at Susquehanna University completed, Elizabethtown has already racked up its share of highlights - most notably in the men's 200 yard individual medley. Swimming in the prelims for the men's 200 IM, junior Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) set a new Elizabethtown program record in the event of 1:59.91, the top time out of all 21 competitors in the preliminary round. In the men's 50 yard freestyle, Scott English (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) placed ninth in the preliminaries in 22.72 seconds, three hundredths of a second behind his season-best time. In the preliminaries of the women's 500 yard freestyle, Joanna Hyde (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland), Stacey Limbach (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Catherine Schadler (Souderton, PA/Lansdale Catholic) and Cristen Cumor (Ellicott City, MD/Mount Hebron) all topped their previous season bests in the event. Hyde swam the event in 5:37.92, Limbach took 5:43.02, Schadler improved to 5:43.25, and Cumor swam it in 5:45.61. Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) placed sixth in the prelims of the women's 200 yard individual medley with a season-best time of 2:16.84.
