Moore, Blaha, Cumor, Gish, in Hunt for Medals on Second Day of MAC Swimming Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Through Saturday's preliminary round of the Middle Atlantic Conference swimming championships at Susquehanna University, the Elizabethtown men were in fifth place out of nine teams with 55 points, and the Etown women were in sixth place out of 11 teams with 41 points. The MAC Championships began Friday and will wrap up Sunday night.

Casey Moore (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) had the top time in the men's 200 yard freestyle preliminaries Saturday with 1:43.95. Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) was in third in the 100 breaststroke prelims with a time of 1:10.74, and Christen Cumor (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) was in fifth with a time of 1:12.78. Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) was in second after the preliminaries of the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.67.

Results for the finals from Saturday night were not yet available as of 9:45 p.m.

Highlighting Friday's performances, Moore broke both the Elizabethtown and MAC Championship records in the men's 200 yard individual medley, posting a final time of 1:57.93 and a preliminary time of 1:59.91 en route to winning a gold medal.
