Dickinson Defeats Etown in Blue Jays' Season Opener

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown lost its 2002-03 season opener at home against Dickinson Saturday, as the Dickinson men won 154-27, and the Dickinson women won 138-69. Dickinson's men's team is now 2-0, while the Red Devil women's team is 3-0 this season.

A Dickinson entry finished first in every men's event, and Dickinson swimmers captured all but two women's events. Etown freshman Stacey Limbach (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) won her very first collegiate race, capturing the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:44.09, a time that, had it been swum at the 2002 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the end of last season, would have captured fourth place. Her winning time was also a full 22 seconds faster than the number two finisher in the event.

Etown's other event winner was junior Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth), who won the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:34.53.

Etown will return to action on the road Wednesday, November 13 against York College at 6:00 p.m.
