Washington College Sweeps Etown Swimmers, Men Fall 117-38, Women Fall 142-61

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College swimming teams fell to Washington College (Md.) at home Tuesday night in the make-up of a previously snowed-out dual meet. The Etown men, competing Tuesday with just four swimmers, dropped a 117-38 decision, while the Blue Jay women fell 142-61.

In the men's events, Brian Thudium (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) set a new team season-best time in the 200 yard freestyle with a second place finish of 1:56.40. He also set a new team season-low time in the 100 yard breaststroke with a second place time of 1:06.35.

In the women's events, Keeley Trumbo (Jeffersonville, PA/Great Valley) placed second for Etown in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.88, and Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:11.45.

Etown will return to action as the host of Middle Atlantic Conference rival Drew in a 6:00 p.m. meet Wednesday, January 14.
