Etown Women in Sixth Place, Men in Seventh, After Conclusion of First Day of MAC Championships

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- Following the conclusion of the first day of competition at the 2004 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships, held at Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Elizabethtown's women's swimming team is in sixth place out of 11 teams with a score of 74 points, and the Elizabethtown men's swimming team is in seventh place with a score of 52 points.

The Etown women's 400 yard medley relay team of Nicole Welch (Dansville, NY/Dansville), Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth), Keeley Trumbo (Jeffersonville, PA/Great Valley) and Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) became Etown's first medal-winning entry this year, earning a bronze medal Friday by finishing in third place in 4:10.57.

The MAC Swimming Championships will resume at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and continue through Sunday.
