Etown Women Finish Sixth, Men Finish Seventh, at MAC Championships; Keeley Trumbo Sets Program Butterfly Records, Earns Two Individual Bronze Medals; Christina Blaha Earns Two Individual Silver Medals

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's and men's swimming teams finished sixth out of 11 teams and seventh out of 10 teams, respectively, at the 2004 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, which ran from Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15 at Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Etown first-year Keeley Trumbo (Jeffersonville, PA/Great Valley) earned a pair of individual bronze medals and set new Elizabethtown records in a pair of events Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, she finished third in the 200 yard butterfly with a program record time of 2:16.84, and on Saturday, she finished third in the 100 yard butterfly with a program record time of 1:01.12.

Blue Jay senior Christina Blaha (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) earned a pair of MAC silver medals, taking the silver in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:30.79 Sunday, and finishing second in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:08.59 Saturday.

On Friday, the Etown women's 400 yard medley relay team of Nicole Welch (Dansville, NY/Dansville), Blaha, Trumbo and Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) became Etown's first medal-winning entry, earning a bronze medal by finishing in third place in 4:10.57.
