Albright Sweeps Elizabethtown in Blue Jays' Final Home Dual Meet of Season

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Albright College, the defending Middle Atlantic Conference men's swimming champion and 2004 MAC runner-up in women's swimming, swept Elizabethtown in the Blue Jays' final home dual meet of the season Saturday, as the Albright men won 93-61 and the Albright women won 103-79.

The Etown women began the meet on a high note, with Rachel Halton (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus), Kristen Kuc (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity), Keeley Trumbo (Jeffersonville, PA/Great Valley) and Molly Campbell (Mountville, PA/Lancaster Catholic) teaming up to win the opening event, the 200 yard medley relay, in 2:00.52. That win was immediately followed by a Holly Gish (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) victory for Etown in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:05.68.

After that, Albright won the next four events, and Gish snapped Albright's win streak with another solo victory in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.95 seconds. Etown's other win came in the final event, where the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Gish, Halton, Campbell and Kuc won in 1:48.15 and beat all of Albright's exhibition entries.

On the men's side, Albright won all events in which it did not swim as exhibition only.

Etown will return to action in a January 22 women's team only road meet at MAC rival Juniata College at 1:00 p.m.
