Elizabethtown Falls to York; Women’s Score: 125-80, Men’s Score: 116-62; Jenny Brizek Sweeps Events for Blue Jays

YORK, Pa. --- Elizabethtown’s women’s swimming team dropped to 0-3 in dual meets while the Blue Jay men’s swimming team dropped 0-3 on the road Wednesday night at York College. The York women won 125-80, and the York men won 116-62.

Etown first year student Jenny Brizek (Sinking Spring, PA/Conrad Weiser) won all three events she entered over the course of the evening. She won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:20.23 and the 200 yard backstroke in 2:20.89. She also teamed up with Rachel Halton (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus), Christy Serpico (Holmes, PA/Ridley) and Tara Ison (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) to win the 400 yard medley relay in 4:27.74.

On the men’s side, York won all of the events that it did not swim as exhibitions. At the close of the meet, the Etown 200 yard medley relay team of Geoff Betz (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), Ronald Harkness (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan), Julian Harper (New York, NY/Fordham Prep.) and Ryan Schutz (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) won in 1:45.54, and Daniel McGuigan (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) took the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:33.15.

Etown will return to action on the road Saturday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. in a triangular meet at Lycoming College with Washington & Jefferson College.
