Scranton Sweeps Elizabethtown, 100-78 (Men), 104.5-86.5 (Women)

SCRANTON , Pa. --- Elizabethtown College’s men’s and women’s swimming teams fell in a road dual meet against Middle Atlantic Conference rival University of Scranton Saturday. The Blue Jay men fell 100-78, while the Elizabethtown women lost 104.5-86.5.

On the men’s side, Elizabethtown won four individual events. Christopher Miller (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:51.45 and the 200 yard backstroke in 2:02.34. Matthew Drob (Strasburg, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) won the 50 yard freestyle in 23.13 seconds, and Jason Rose (Ft. Washington, PA/ Upper Dublin) won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:23.77

On the women’s side, Jennifer Brizek (Sinking Spring, PA/Conrad Weiser) won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:22.58. Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) won the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:34.68 for the Blue Jays.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Tuesday, January 30 at Widener University in a 6:00 p.m. meet.
