Blue Jays Compete at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College swimmers competed at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational Saturday and Sunday. There, the Blue Jay men finished eighth with a score of 155, while the Etown women finished 11th with a score of 88.

Sophomore Christopher Miller (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) won a pair of events for Elizabethtown. He won the 100 yard backstroke, placing first out of 21 finishers, in 54.77 seconds. He also won the 200 yard backstroke out of 21 finishers in 1:58.99. Miller also placed fifth in the 500 yard freestyle out of 35 finishers in 4:58.05.

Also earning top ten finishes in individual events for Elizabethtown was junior Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown). She placed eighth out of 31 finishers in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:37.89. She also finished ninth out of 34 finishers in the in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:12.64.

The Blue Jays will return to action in a dual meet on the road against Washington College (Md.) Saturday, December 9 in a 1:00 p.m. meet.
