ETOWN WOMEN THIRD, MEN SEVENTH AFTER SECOND DAY OF MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- After the second day of competition Friday, the Elizabethtown women’s swimming team shot up from sixth to third place with 122.5 points, and the men’s team is in seventh place with 85 points at the 2000 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at Susquehanna University.

Brooke Knepper (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) won the 500 freestyle in 5:24.93 and finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:17.49. Lindsay Texter (Lititz, PA/Warwick) placed third in the 500 freestyle in 5:28.24.

In the men’s events, Paul Contino (Flourtown, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) placed second in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 5:02.31.

The MAC Championships will conclude Sunday. Trials begin at 10:00 a.m. And finals are set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
