ETOWN MEN AND WOMEN FALL TO WASHINGTON AND JEFFERSON, WOMEN DEFEAT JUNIATA

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- In their first home meets of the season, the Etown men’s and women’s swimming team both fell to Washington and Jefferson, while the women’s team also defeated Juniata. The men lost to W & J by a 114-62 score, and the women lost 61-34. The women’s score against Juniata was 54-39.

Washington and Jefferson’s women’s team defeated Juniata 61-33.

Leading the Blue Jay men was Paul Contino (Flourtown, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh), who finished second in the 200 individual medley and the 200 butterfly, Jon Fortin (West Hartford, CT/William H. Hall), who took second in the 100 freestyle and Eric Biocchi (Hatfield, PA), who finished in second place in the 1000 freestyle.

In the women’s races, Brooke Knepper (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) won both the 1000 freestyle and the 200 butterfly. Lindsay Texter (Lititz, PA/Warwick) finished second in both the 500 freestyle and the 200 freestyle, and Sarah Bradley (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Mt. Pleasant) came in second in the 100 freestyle.

The Blue Jays’ next women’s meet occurs against Millersville Tuesday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. Both teams will race next at the Kutztown Invitational at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 3.
