ETOWN MEN FINISH FIFTH, WOMEN FINISH SEVENTH, IN KUTZTOWN INVITATIONAL

KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown men’s swimming team finished in fifth place with 181 points and the women’s team finished seventh with 171 points after two days of competition at the Kutztown Invitational.

The men scored 22 points with a fourth place finish in the 400 yard medley relay, and 25 points with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay. Paul Contino (Flourtown, PA) finished second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:36.51, scoring 13 points. He also finished sixth int the 100 breaststroke, scoring nine points, right behind teammate Jon Fortin (West Hartford, CT), who finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke.

Eric Bicocchi (Hatfield, PA) contributed eighteen points with a sixth place finish in the finals of the 500 freestyle and another sixth place finish in the 100 butterfly.

In the women’s races, Lindsay Texter (Lititz, PA) finished third in the 400 individual medley, scoring twelve points, and finished eighth in the 200 freestyle, scoring an additonal five. Brooke Knepper (Middletown, MD) garnered ten points with a fifth place finish in the 500 freestyle, and picked up seven more by finishing seventh in the 100 butterfly.

Sarah Bradley (Mt. Pleasant, PA) scored fourteen points by finishing fifth in the 50 yard freestyle and ninth in the 100 breaststroke. Sarah Klaiber (Hazelton, PA) finished seventh in the 200 backstroke.

The Blue Jays will next see action at home against Western Maryland Tuesday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m.
