ETOWN HANGS TOUGH AGAINST JUNIATA, FALLS 3-1 TO NO. 2 TEAM IN NATION

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- Elizabethtown took a game from nationally ranked Juniata before falling, 3-1, in MAC Commonwealth League action on Wednesday.  With the loss, the Blue Jays fell to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Becky Walker led the Blue Jays with five kills and also added seven digs and seven assists as Etown won a game against Juniata for the first time since a 3-1 loss in 1990.  The Eagles, currently 15-0 and ranked No. 2 in Division III, have won 17 consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference championships and over 200 straight league matches.

Also leading the Blue Jay effort were Lori Lisiecki with a team-high nine digs and Kristen Maguire with nine assists.

Etown returns to action on Friday and Saturday, October 2-3 at the Rutgers University-Newark Tournament.  Match times are to be announced.
