ETOWN FALLS TO GOUCHER, 3-1, SCRANTON, 3-0; STOCKTON DEFEATS SCRANTON, GOUCHER AT ETOWN

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Blue Jays fell to 0-3 in the 1999 season after losses to Goucher and Scranton during a mini-tournament they hosted Saturday, which included Goucher, Scranton and Richard Stockton.

The Blue Jays hosted Goucher in the first round and lost 4-12, 15-12, 10-14, 13-15.  Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) let Elizabethtown with five service aces, two blocks and twelve kills.  Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) had twelve digs for the Blue Jays.

Elizabethtown played Scranton in the consolation match and succumbed 3-15, 4-15, 9-15.  Johns again led the team in kills and service aces with  twelve and three, respectively.

Stockton and Scranton also played in the first round with Stockton winning 3-2.  The Ospreys went on to win the tournament by defeating Goucher 3-0.
 Etown returns to action Monday, September 6 at Franklin and Marshall.  Match time is 7:00 p.m.
