ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
ETOWN FALLS TO REGIONALLY 3RD-RANKED GETTYSBURG, 3-1 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Blue Jays dropped a hard-fought match to Centennial Conference powerhouse Gettysburg Wednesday night by a score of 1-3. The Bullets pierced Etown with full force in the first game, demonstrating why they are one of the top teams in the Northeast by winning 15-5. The underdog Blue Jays fought back in the second game, however, winning 15-4 as a stunned Gettysburg squad attempted to regroup. The advantage in the third game seesawed between the teams due to frequent side-outs, before Gettysburg pulled out a 15-7 victory. The Bullets returned to their match-opening form as they captured the fourth and final game 15-4. Senior captain Kim Mulderig (Sayville, NY/Sayville) starred for Elizabethtown, pacing the team with nine digs and four service aces. First-year Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) led the Blue Jays with seven kills and provided seven more digs. The Blue Jays return to action Sunday, September 12 at Goldey-Beacom College. Match time is 1:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown, Pa.
