ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell to defending Centennial Conference co-champion Western Maryland at home Monday, 15-4, 15-12, 15-8.
The Blue Jays (3-8 overall), jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first game but could not hold on to the advantage, as the Green Terror responded with seven unanswered points.
Western Maryland (5-5 overall) built up a 14-8 lead in the second game, only to see the Blue Jays chip away at the lead until it was reduced to 14-12 before scoring the winning point.
The Green Terror leaped out to a 10-3 lead in the third game, but Elizabethtown's comeback came too late, as Western Maryland won the third game 15-8.
Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against Commonwealth Conference rival Widener Wednesday, September 20. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
