Western Maryland Defeats Elizabethtown, 3-1

CARLISLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped a close 3-1 match to host Western Maryland Saturday to fall to 2-5 overall. The scores of three of the four games were decided by margins of two points, as Etown lost the first 30-28, won the second 30-28, lost the third 30-21, and lost the fourth 33-31.

Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) led Elizabethtown with 13 kills and 20 digs, while Morris, Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) and Sarah Klunk (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford), each led the team with three service aces. Ashley Wade (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) totaled 10 kills, 16 digs, and a team-high total of six blocks for the Blue Jays, and Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) had 35 assists.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Wednesday, September 19 against Messiah at 7:00 p.m. It is Elizabethtown's first home match and first Commonwealth Conference match of the season.
