Etown Halts Widener's Four Match Win Streak With 3-1 Win

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown defeated Widener 3-1 at home Wednesday night as the Blue Jays improved to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Blue Jays won the first game by a close 33-31 margin, breezed through the second game 30-18, fell in the third 33-31, and won the fourth 30-23. Widener falls to 9-12 overall and 1-3 in the conference with the loss, and the Pioneer's four-match win streak was ended.

Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) led the Blue Jays with 19 kills, and she had seven solo blocks. Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) led the team with 25 digs, and Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) had 42 assists. Ashley Wade (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) had one assisted and seven solo blocks.

Elizabethtown returns to action on the road Saturday, October 6 in a triangular match at Delaware Valley with Messiah. Play is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
