ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL Etown Sweeps Rochester, Medaille in Triangular Match, Morris Posts Near-Record Highs in Aces, Digs ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Elizabethtown improved to 10-8 overall by winning a pair of matches over Rochester, 3-2, and Medaille, 3-0, in a triangular match at the University of Rochester Friday. The Blue Jays are now off to their best start through 18 matches since 1996, when Etown was 12-6 at this point and finished 24-11 overall. Highlighting individual perfomances in the tri-match for Etown was sophomore Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton), who came close to setting single-match program records in a pair of categories. Her 37 digs against Rochester was the second-highest total ever by a Blue Jay, and was just six digs shy of the record of 43 set by Liz Bishard in 1996. Morris also had eight service aces against Medaille, tying her for the second-highest single match total in that category, and just two shy of the record of 10 set by current teammate Sarah Klunk (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) in 1998. Ashley Wade (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) had 10 solo and two assisted blocks against Rochester for a total of 12, tying her for the eighth-higest single match block total in program history. Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) had 47 assists against Rochester, the eleventh-highest single match total in Etown history. Elizabethtown defeated Rochester in a close 30-22, 20-30, 27-30, 30-25, 18-16 match, and the Blue Jays blew out Medaille 30-18, 30-27, 30-19.
