ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL Penn State-Altoona Defeats Etown in Close 3-2 Match ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell to 10-12 overall this season with a 3-2 nailbiter loss to Penn State-Altoona (15-5) Monday night at Thompson Gymnasium. Elizabethtown won the first game 30-23, but not before falling behind 8-1 early in the game. The Blue Jays fell in a close second game, 33-31, but took a 2-1 lead by winning the third game, 30-24. Penn State-Altoona then swept the final two games, 30-24 and 16-14, to win the match. Three Blue Jays had kill totals in the double digits, led by Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) with 13. Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) had 12 kills, and Sarah Klunk (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) had 11. Three Blue Jays had 20 or more digs as well, with Morris leading the way with 28. Ashley Wade (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) had 21 digs, and Klunk posted 20. Setter Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) dished out 46 assists in the match. Johns also had 13 blocks in the match, the seventh-highest single match total in program history. With her 28 digs Monday night, Morris' season total now stands at 335, the seventh highest season total in the history of the program. Her career kill total as a sophomore now stands at 806, the sixth-highest career total in program history. Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against Albright Wednesday, October 24 for a 7:00 p.m. match, the Blue Jays' final Commonwealth Conference match of the season.
