Etown Finishes Season 13-14 with 2-2 Showing in Halloween Classic Tournament

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown finished the 2001 season with a 13-14 overall record, its best finish since 1996, after going 2-2 in its annual Halloween Classic Tournament Friday and Saturday.

The Blue Jays had lost to F&M, 3-1, in the first round of the tournament Friday night, but Etown bounced back to defeat Buffalo State in three games, 30-28, 30-17, 30-21 Saturday morning.

In Etown's second match of the day Saturday, Etown fell to Allegheny in four games, 30-32, 30-20, 30-28, 30-22. The Blue Jays ended the tournament and the season on a winning note in their final match against Haverford, 30-23, 30-25, 18-30, 30-28.

Franklin and Marshall won the tournament by point spread after going 3-1 over the course of the weekend, and Etown sophomore Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) was named to the all-tournament team after totaling 39 kills, 86 digs, and ten service aces over four matches.
