Etown Defeats DeSales, 3-0, Montclair State, 3-2, on Second Day of Scranton Invitational after Falling to Haverford, 3-2, and SUNY-Cortland, 3-1, on Friday

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown picked up a pair of wins Saturday on the second day of the Scranton Invitational, defeating DeSales 30-25, 30-26, 30-28, and Montclair State 27-30, 30-14, 30-24, 20-30, 15-4, boosting the Blue Jays' record to 5-4 overall after falling to Haverford, 3-2, and SUNY-Cortland, 3-1, during Friday's matches.

Dawn Johns (Baltimore, MD/Lansdowne) and Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) each had nine kills to pace the Blue Jays against DeSales, and Morris had a team high of 12 digs.

Against Montclair State, Morris led the team with 16 kills, and Erin Malone (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) had 14 kills. Morris also led the team with 28 digs and three service aces.

In Friday's match against Haverford, Etown fell 30-19, 30-27, 11-30, 23-30, 15-7. Morris had 16 kills and Johns totaled seven service aces and eight kills. Meghan Gowens (Pensacola, FL/B.T. Washington) added nine kills to the Blue Jays' efforts.

Against SUNY-Cortland Friday, Etown won the first game 30-25, but fell in the next three 30-15, 30-24, 30-26. Morris again led the team in kills with 19, and Johns and Malone had ten kills each. Gowens again had nine kills.
