Ursinus Upsets Etown, 3-2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Ursinus stunned Elizabethtown at Thompson Gymnasium Thursday night, winning in a 3-2 comeback against the Blue Jays. Etown drops to 5-6 overall with the loss, while Ursinus improves to 5-9.

Elizabethtown won handily in the first game, 30-21, but Ursinus came back to defeat the Blue Jays in a close 31-29 second game. The Blue Jays blew out Ursinus in the third game, 30-18, but Ursinus crept back and took the forth game, 30-21. Etown jumped out to a 5-0 lead early in the fifth game, but Ursinus mounted a comeback and outlasted Etown 17-15 to win the match.

Tess Romiti (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) led the Blue Jays with 22 assists, and Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) had team highs of 14 digs and 11 kills.

Etown returns to action on the road Wednesday, September 25 against Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah.
