ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL Emily Morris Breaks Career Dig Record As Etown Splits Results on First Day of Scranton Invitational
Morris entered the tournament needing 12 digs to break the program record, which stood since 1997. She led the Blue Jays in digs against SUNY-Cortland with 20, and she was second on the team with nine kills. She also had two blocks in Etown's 30-27, 20-30, 30-21, 30-21 loss to SUNY-Cortland. In the nightcap, Etown's 34-36, 30-23, 30-28, 22-30, 15-12 win over DeSales, Morris picked up 28 more digs to bring her program-record total to 1,477, and she pounded out 16 kills to lead the Blue Jays. Other Blue Jays who had a stellar day Friday included Lindsay Johnson (Elkton, MD/Sanford), who led Etown in kills against SUNY-Cortland with 14, and she had 11 kills and 10 digs against DeSales. Ashley Wade (Duncansville, PA/Hollidaysburg) cranked out 15 kills in 31 attempts and had 25 digs against DeSales, and Jenn Kline (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) had 33 assists and 20 digs against DeSales. Dee Selby (York, PA/Spring Grove) had 26 assists against SUNY-Cortland and 22 more assists against DeSales.
