Elizabethtown Defeats Division II Millersville 3-1

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. --- NCAA Division III member Elizabethtown College upended NCAA Division II Millersville University in four games Friday night at Millersville. Elizabethtown improves to 8-1 overall with the win, while Millersville drops to 7-8 with the loss.

Millersville won the first game 30-27, but Elizabethtown won the next three by scores of 30-25, 30-19, 30-24 to take the match.

Kelly Downs '08 had 17 kills and seven blocks.

Kelly Downs (Airville, PA/Red Lion) led Elizabethtown in kills with 17 and in blocks with seven. Paige Tanner (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro Area) added 12 kills and five blocks. Kate Scanlan (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley) led Etown in digs with 24, and Kayla Deats (Middlebury Center, PA/Wellsboro Area) had six blocks and a .444 hitting percentage for the match. Stacey Wasserman (Upperco, MD/Owings Mills) had 43 assists.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Wednesday, September 20 in a 7:00 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match against Widener University.
