ETOWN CRUISES PAST ALBRIGHT, 88-29

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown rolled past Albright, 88-29, in a Commonwealth Conference match-up. With the win, Etown moves to 4-1 on the season, and 2-0 in the conference. Albright falls to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Etown jumped out to a 45-9 halftime advantage and was never threatened the entire second half by the Lions. Junior Jamie Porter (Glenolden, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) led the Blue Jays with 15 points. Senior Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) contributed all around for Etown with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Junior Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) and sophomore Sandra Lopez (Lancaster, PA/J.P. McCaskey) added 12 points each for Etown and freshman Jessica Smith (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) was the remaining Blue Jay in double figures with 10 points.

The Blue Jays turned in a solid defensive effort by forcing Albright into 29 turnovers and holding the Lions to 13% shooting from the field.

Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against Messiah in a key Commonwealth Conference game Tuesday, December 5. Messiah and Etown were picked to finish first and second, respectively, in the preseason coaches' poll. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
