Etown Falls to Grove City, 68-59, Washington & Jefferson Defeats Shenandoah, 81-68, in First Day of Coaches vs. Cancer Blue Jay Classic

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell to 2-6 with a 68-59 loss to Grove City on the first day of the Coaches vs. Cancer Blue Jay Classic. In the day's other game, Washington and Jefferson downed Shenandoah, 81-68.

Stephanie Scinto (Westwood, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) led the Blue Jays with 20 points and shot seven-for-seven from the foul line. Jessica Smith (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Cherrissa McCoy (Trevose, PA/Bensalem) each added 13 points to Etown's effort.

Grove City (4-6) received 34 of its 68 points from the bench, including a team high of 12 from Abby Moose. The Wolverines shot 51.9% (24-for-52) from the floor during the first half, at the close of which they held a 36-23 lead.

The Coaches vs. Cancer Blue Jay Classic will conclude Saturday with Shenandoah taking on Grove City at 1:00 p.m. and Elizabethtown hosting Washington and Jefferson at 3:00 p.m.
