ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL McLean's 16 Points Lead Moravian Past Etown, 61-38 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- For only the tenth time ever in 52 meetings, Moravian defeated Elizabethtown Tuesday night in Thompson Gymnasium, 61-38. With the loss Elizabethtown falls to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in the Commonwealth Conference this season, while Moravian improves to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Kelly McLean led Moravian with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Tara Wozniak added 10 points for the Greyhounds. Moravian shot 20-for-24 (83.3%) from the foul line in the game. Elizabethtown was hampered by low shooting percentages, as the Blue Jays shot just 28.1% (16-for-57) from the field, 22.2% (four-for-18) from three-point range, and 28.6% (two-for-seven) from the foul line. The lone exception was sophomore center Tameka Jackson (Philadelphia, PA/John W. Hallahan), who shot five-for-six from the floor and scored 10 points. Jackson led the team with four steals. Cherrissa McCoy (Trevose, PA/Bensalem) led Etown in points scored with 13, and Jennifer Roberts (Eagleville, PA/Mathaction) led the Blue Jays with seven rebounds. Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against conference rival Juniata Saturday, January 12. Game time is 4:00 p.m. |
