Etown Snaps Losing Streak with 57-52 Road Win over Albright

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown picked up its first win since December 30 with a 57-52 road win over Commonwealth Conference rival Albright Saturday night. Etown improves to 4-12 overall and 2-4 in the conference, while Albright drops to 1-12.

Etown took a 29-23 lead into halftime as the Blue Jays shot 39.3% (11-for-28) from the field. Etown out-rebounded Albright 49-40 over the course of the game. The Blue Jays also made 20 of 28 free throw attempts, while Albright made just eight out of 12 foul shots.

Etown's top scorer was freshman Dana Voit (Jefferson Mills, PA/Thomas Jefferson), one of four freshmen the Blue Jays started, with 14 points on five-for-10 shooting from the field and a two-for-five performance from three-point range. Classmate Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) added 11 points and led the Blue Jays in rebounding with eight, assists with three and steals with four.

Anne Dougherty was Albright's top scorer with 17 points, and Laura Tangradi added 16 points for the Lions.

Etown will return to action in its final non-conference game of the season Monday, January 27. The Blue Jays will host York at 7:00 p.m.
