Etown Blows Out Sewanee, 67-45, Gets First Win of Season in Final Game at Marymount Tipoff

ARLINGTON, Va. --- Elizabethtown picked up its first win of the 2002-03 season with a 67-45 blow-out of Sewanee, the University of the South, in the Blue Jays' final game at the Marymount Tipoff Tournament. Elizabethtown, which improves to 1-2 with the win, raced out to a 41-17 lead by halftime and used its entire roster against Sewanee (0-3).

Jessica Hollinshead (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) led Elizabethtown in scoring with 15 points on a 7-for-11 performance from the field, and she pulled down seven rebounds and tallied one blocked shot. Jenny Roberts (Eagleville, PA/Methacton) scored 10 points on five-for-seven shooting for Etown, and she led the Blue Jays with 11 rebounds, including six offensive boards.

Sewanee's high scorer was Sally Jackson, who scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Elizabethtown shot 43.9% from the field and held Sewanee to 31.6% shooting. Elizabethtown also out-shot Sewanee 66-57.

The Blue Jays will not return to action again until Tuesday, December 3, when Etown will play its home opener as well as its Commonwealth Conference opener against Widener in a 7:00 p.m. game at Thompson Gymnasium.
