ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
IMMACULATA, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's basketball team ran its current winning streak, its longest since Feburary and March 2001, to four games with a 64-46 road win over Immaculata University Monday night. Etown took control of the game early, carrying a 33-18 lead into halftime. With the win, Etown improved to 4-3 overall, the first time the Blue Jays have been above .500 since the conclusion of the 2000-01 season. Etown also handed Immaculata its first loss of 2003-04, as the host Mighty Macs dropped to 4-1 overall. Jessica Hollinshead (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) led Etown in scoring with 24 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field and a 6-for-8 performance from the free throw line, and she pulled down six rebounds and led the team in steals with five. Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) added 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting for Etown, and she, along with Christina Buso (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook), led the Blue Jays in rebounds with eight each. Etown will not return to action until Sunday, January 4, when the Blue Jays will face FDU-Florham in a 5:00 p.m. game in a two-day tournament at the University of the Virgin Islands. 12/8/03 7:00 p.m. at Immaculata University |
