Elizabethtown Defeats Juniata 75-62, for Second Conference Win of Season

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College first-year Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Co.) poured in a career-best 21 points from off the bench to lead the Blue Jays to a 75-62 victory over Juniata College at home Wednesday night. Etown is now 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the Commonwealth Conference, while Juniata drops to 4-9 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Elizabethtown held a 42-28 lead at the half as Megan Wolfe (Jonestown, PA/Northern Lebanon) hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Blue Jays a 14 point lead.

Walton finished the game with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals for Etown, while Wolfe finished with 11 points and a game high of six assists and team high of four steals. Etown senior Jen Roberts (Eagleville, PA/Methacton) totaled 16 points and seven rebounds, and junior Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) scored 12 points and had five rebounds for the Blue Jays. Etown's top rebounder was first-year Amanda Reid (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area), who hauled in eight rebounds, scored eight points, and had five assists from off the bench.

First-year Jess Winemiller (York, PA/Dallastown) was Juniata's leading scorer with 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting from the field, and she was also the team's top rebounder with seven boards. Winemiller also led all players in steals with six and had four assists. Katie O'Brien (Hanover, PA/South Western) added 10 points and six rebounds for Juniata.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road against Widener University in a 1:00 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game Saturday, January 15.
