Dickinson Defeats Elizabethtown 67-42

CARLISLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College's women's basketball team fell on the road to Dickinson College in a non-conference game Thursday night, 67-42, to drop to 1-4 overall in the 2004-05 season. Dickinson improved to 4-0 with the victory.

The Blue Jays shot just just 25.4% (16-for-63) from the field and were out-rebounded 50-33. Ten of Etown's 33 rebounds came at the offensive end of the court, and the Blue Jays out-shot Dickinson 63-61 over the course of the game. Dickinson fared better in its shooting, though, connecting on 47.5% of its shots (29-for-61). Etown forced 23 Dickinson turnovers, and the Blue Jays made nine steals.

First-year Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington County) was Etown's leading scorer with eight points. Fellow first-year Audrey Hitz (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) came off the bench to lead Etown in rebounds with nine, and she scored seven points.

Megan Shelley led Dickinson in scoring with 15 points, and Laura Housel added 12 points for the Red Devils. Dickinson's top rebounder was Patrice Johnson with eight boards, and she added 11 points as well.

Etown will return to action on the road in a Commonwealth Conference game at Albright College Saturday, December 4 at 6:00 p.m.
