Elizabethtown Defeats Albright 70-41; Blue Jay Head Coach Yvonne Kauffman Gets 599th Career Basketball Coaching Win

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College head coach Yvonne Kauffman picked up her 599th career basketball coaching victory Saturday night as the Blue Jays defeated Commonwealth Conference rival Albright College 70-41 on the road. It was the Blue Jays' first conference win of the season.

Elizabethtown (2-4 overall, 1-1 conference) shot 41.9% (26-for-62) from the field over the game, while Albright (1-4 overall, 0-2 conference) shot just 30.8% (12-for-39) from the field. Albright committed 30 turnovers in the game, and the Blue Jays made 16 steals. Etown also held a 41-33 advantage in rebounding.

Three Blue Jays led Etown in scoring with 10 points each. First-year Audrey Hitz (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) came off the bench to score 10 points and lead the Blue Jays in rebounds with 10. Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) scored 10 points for Etown and led the team in steals with four, and Dana Voit (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson) tallied 10 points and had four rebounds.

Staci Waligorski was the lone Albright player to score in double digits, as she went 4-for-7 from the field and 3-for-5 from the free throw line total 11 points.

Etown will return to action at home Wednesday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. against Immaculata University. There, Kauffman will try to become only the second head coach in NCAA Division III women's basketball history to amass 600 career victories.
