Trinity (Tex.) Defeats Elizabethtown 96-77 in Second Round of Marymount Tip-Off Classic

ARLINGTON, Va. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 0-2 overall with a 96-77 loss to Trinity University (Tex.) Saturday in the second round of the Marymount University Tip-Off Classic. Etown will go on to face King’s College ( Pa.) in the final round Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

For the second day in a row, Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Co.) was Etown’s leading scorer, today tallying 26 points by shooting 9-for-20 from the field and 8-for-10 from the free throw line. Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) added 16 points for Etown by shooting 5-for-9 from the field and 6-for-8 from the free throw line. She also pulled down five rebounds and had three assists. First-year student Lindsay Pecht (Milroy, PA/Belleville Mennonite) came off the bench to shoot 7-for-7 from the free throw line and tally 10 points for Etown.

Jenny Farrar of Trinity led all players in the game in points with 28 and in rebounds with 12. She also shot 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Kate Dawson added 14 points and five assists for Trinity, and Martha King had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Trinity out-rebounded Etown 49-29, and Trinity had 12 steals against one for the Blue Jays.
