Elizabethtown Gets First Win of Season, 57-55, over Immaculata; Walton Scores Career-Best 30 Points

IMMACULATA, Pa. --- Elizabethtown got its first win of the 2005-06 season Thursday night by edging previously undefeated Immaculata University 57-55 on the road. Etown improves to 1-4 with the win, while Immaculata drops to 3-1 with the loss.

Erin Walton '08 scored a career high of 30 points.

Elizabethtown sophomore Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Co.) scored a career-best total of 30 points to lead all scorers in the game. She also tied for the lead in steals with four, and she shot 10-for-22 from the field and 10-for-13 from the free throw line. Audrey Hitz (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) led Etown in rebounds with nine, and Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) led the Blue Jays in assists with five, in blocked shots with four, and tied for the lead in steals with four.

Dominique Murray tied as Immaculata’s top scorer with 14 points, and she was the team’s top rebounder with 14 rebounds. Meg Legere added 14 points as well for Immaculata and had nine rebounds.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Saturday, December 3 against Commonwealth Conference rival Albright College in a 6:00 p.m. game.
