ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Elizabethtown Picks Up Second Straight Win With 84-51 Victory at Swarthmore SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- Senior Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington County) scored 26 points to move into fifth place on the school career scoring list as Elizabethtown College routed Swarthmore College 84-51 in non-conference women's basketball action on Tuesday night. Walton added eight rebounds and three steals in just 25 minutes of action as the Blue Jays (2-1 overall) went on a 45-15 run in the second half to turn a 10-point lead into a 40-point advantage. With her 26-point effort, Walton increased her career point total to 1,370, surpassing Marci Grossman '93 (1,365 points), Nancy Keene '89 (1,364 points) and Michelle Swatner '88 (1,362 points) for fifth place in program history. She is 388 points shy of passing Page Lutz '84 (1,757 points) to become the all-time leading scorer at Elizabethtown. Junior Megan Quinn (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) also reached double figures for the Blue Jays with 10 points, while the Elizabethtown defense limited the Garnet (1-2 overall) to just 33.3 percent shooting from the field. Kathryn Stockbower led Swarthmore with 16 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots while Caylan Bodur added 13 points and Karen Berk chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds. Neither team led by more than three points for the first 11 minutes of the game, but the Blue Jays scored the final seven points of first half to take a 32-22 lead to halftime Elizabethtown held a 46-33 lead with 14:39 to play after a basket by Bodur, but the Garnet would not score another field goal until 5:03 remained as the Blue Jays went on a 29-7 run to take a 72-40 lead. The Blue Jays finished with a 56-40 edge in rebounding, led by 11 boards from first-year student Kaity Snyder (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia) in 19 minutes off the bench. Finishing with nine points each for the Blue Jays were junior Megan Romano (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown), junior Jenn Montague (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) and first-year student Kirsti Larsen (Carlisle, PA/Boiling Springs).
