JAYS SCORE MOST POINTS IN THREE YEARS TO DOWN SUSQUEHANNA, 95-65

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Four Blue Jays scored in double figures as Elizabethtown rang up its highest point total in three years with a 95-65 victory over Susquehanna in MAC Commonwealth League action on Saturday. The last time the Jays put more points on the board was in a 100-60 win over Juniata on February 16, 1995.

Etown (11-5, 7-2) was led by Shauntae Stancil, who posted team highs with 19 points and eight rebounds. Kim Boback was next with 18 points while teammate Gina Kaiser added 15 points and seven boards.

Kristen Venne paced Susquehanna (9-7, 4-5) with 26 points while Sue Trella was next on the Crusader scoring list with 13 points.

With 11:52 remaining in the first half and the game tied at 17-17, Etown ripped off a 23-5 run to take a 40-22 lead en route to the victory. The Jays shot 55.4 percent from the floor for the game while the Etown defense produced 20 steals and 37 Crusader turnovers.

Etown point guard Allison Lucey dished out a season-high 11 assists on the game, the highest single-game total in the conference this season. She entered the week as the conference leader in assists with 5.4 per game.

With 11 points for the game, Blue Jay senior Brenda Wessel moved into sixth place on the Etown all-time scoring list with 1,318 points. Etown next takes the court on Wednesday, Feburary 4 at Widener. Game time is 6 p.m.
