BLUE JAYS CLOSE OUT MAGICAL REGULAR SEASON WITH 73-53 WIN OVER MORAVIAN

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa --- Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) led four players in double figures with 17 points and added a team-high eight rebounds to help Elizabethtown defeat Moravian, 73-53, and post a perfect 14-0 MAC Commonwealth League record for the first time since the conference realigned in 1993.

Abbie Fabian (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) added 16 points and six rebounds as the 11th-ranked Blue Jays closed out the regular season with a 22-2 mark.  Etown will host Delaware Valley on Tuesday, February 23 in the first round of the Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs.  Game time is 6 p.m.

Shauntae Stancil (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) added 13 points for Etown while fellow senior Kim Boback (Croydon, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) also hit double figures on Senior Day with 12 points.

Jessie Coughlin led Moravian with 11 points while Leahn Agnew (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) added nine points and seven rebounds as the Greyhounds fell to 14-10 (7-7 MAC Commonwealth League) and missed the MAC playoffs for the first time in 17 seasons.  Steph Rickards led all players with 11 rebounds.

Etown took a 39-27 lead into the locker room courtesy of a 17-for-31 (54.8 percent) shooting performance.  The Blue Jays, currently ranked sixth in Division III in field-goal percentage, shot 31-for-62 (50.0 percent) for the game.

Etown hasn't been 22-2 since the 1988-89 season, when the Jays won the program's second national championship.  Ten years after that championship run, the 1988-89 team was recognized with a ceremony at halftime of this afternoon's game.
